Preparing for Direction

Spiritual direction sessions are meant to explore the movements of your spiritual life, including areas of invitation, growth, and challenge.

I. The Daily Echo

Pay attention to feelings, themes, and topics that arise during your spiritual practice times throughout the month. If you do a daily lectio, notice if a certain word or phrase recurs.

Questions for Reflection:
  • What is draining you right now?
  • What is giving you life?
  • Where are you finding life in God?
II. Noticing Resistance

Notice where you become defensive or where you are tempted to avoid a topic. These "stuck" places are often where God is most active.
